Dear Cherokee Shores Community Members,
In line with Texas Property Code Section 209.0056 and our association’s Bylaws (Article VI, Section 6), we are notifying you of an upcoming vote regarding the removal of a current director.
Background:
On June 8, 2024, Victoria Smith, a member of our community, addressed the board during the regular monthly meeting. She presented a formal request for the removal of Director Robert Burroughs, citing misconduct under the association’s Bylaws. Her statement, along with the relevant documentation, was reviewed by the board.
Board Action:
Following a board meeting on July 10, 2024, the directors voted to formally acknowledge the charges and proceed with the misconduct allegations. The decision was made with a majority vote:
- President Perucca made the motion.
- Director Carroll seconded.
- Director Lancaster voted in favor.
- Director Warren abstained.
The vote to move forward with the formal charges was passed two-to-one.
Upcoming Vote:
A final vote will take place on September 14, 2024, during our regular monthly members’ meeting. The members in attendance will vote on the removal of Director Burroughs, in accordance with the Bylaws.
